World Hydrogen Leaders
Challenge
Hydrogen has the capacity to generate the power needed to fully replace fossil fuels. The biggest obstacles are the cost and the sheer difficulty of the task of replacing infrastructure. World Hydrogen Leaders exists to make this happen by connecting executives in the industry with each other and with decision-makers in polluting corporations. I was hired by FSC to design a brand that distinguishes them from the competition.
execution
It was important to us to avoid the tropes synonymous with green energy brands which includes the use of the colour green. WIth this in mind, I devised a colour palette based on the Balmer series which describes the spectral line emissions of the hydrogen atom. I used these blues and reds to create gradients inspired by heat maps, representing the warming climate and the cooling that is needed. A bold H is the logomark, made of puzzle pieces representing not only the chemical symbol for hydrogen, but their mission. These puzzle pieces were then used as a graphical device throughout the identity.
